Abstract
This paper analyzes the ultimate purpose of the human being from the Aristotelian
perspective. It studies the virtue ethics proposed by Aristotle, which will allow him to act in a
better way as a result of the best intentions of the soul. His position promotes a point of
equilibrium between excesses and defects, which is regulated by intellectual virtues and
ethical virtues, in order to reach a state of contemplation, which allows the human being to
reach fullness through the exercise of activities that have links with passions, ways of being
and faculties. However, it presents difficulties regarding the notion of the good and the
activities that we must carry out to achieve fulfillment, which in Aristotle is called eudemonía.
Resumen
Este trabajo analiza el fin último del ser humano desde la perspectiva aristotélica. Se
estudia la ética de la virtud planteada por Aristóteles, la cual le permitirá obrar de mejor
forma como resultado de las mejores intenciones del alma. Su postura promueve un punto
de equilibrio entre los excesos y defectos, el cual está regulado por las virtudes intelectuales
y las virtudes éticas, con el fin de alcanzar un estado de contemplación, que permita al ser
humano alcanzar la plenitud mediante el ejercicio de actividades que tienen nexos con las
pasiones, los modos de ser y las facultades. Sin embargo, presenta dificultades en cuanto a
la noción del bien y las actividades que debemos realizar para alcanzar la plenitud, que en
Aristóteles recibe el nombre de eudemonía.
