| Abstract: | The present research work focuses on school coexistence as a crucial aspect for the well-being
of students at school, in terms of relationships among peers, with the teacher and the family.
Among the priorities of educational institutions is the training that allows "living with others".
However, during the pandemic, specifically in the virtual teaching-learning process, interactions
between the students and the teacher changed for two years due to the shift in communication
through digital platforms. Based on these facts, and in order to know how school coexistence is
taking place after one year of the returning to face-to-face education, the objective of this study
was to describe the perceptions of Basic Education regarding school coexistence from
sociodemographic data, and the positive and negative dimensions of school coexistence in a
public school in the city of Cuenca. The research was quantitative of descriptive type, nonexperimental, 156 students of fourth, fifth and sixth grade of basic education participated to
answer the questionnaire of School Coexistence, by Del Rey et al. (2017). The results showed
that the sociodemographic characteristics do not alter positive or negative perceptions of school
coexistence, students in general perceive coexistence without aggression. Nevertheless, there is
still a high disruptiveness in the classroom during the learning process. |
| Description: | El presente trabajo de investigación se concentra en la convivencia escolar como un aspecto
crucial para el bienestar de los estudiantes en la escuela, en lo que respecta a las relaciones
entre pares, con el docente y la familia. Entre las prioridades de las instituciones educativas está
la formación que permita “convivir con otros”. Sin embargo, durante la pandemia específicamente
en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje virtual, las interacciones entre estudiantes y con el
docente cambiaron durante dos años debido a la comunicación a través de plataformas digitales.
Con base a estos hechos y para conocer cómo es la convivencia escolar transcurrido un año
desde el retorno a la educación presencial, el objetivo de este estudio fue describir las
percepciones de Educación Básica respecto a la convivencia escolar a partir de datos
sociodemográficos, y las dimensiones positivas y negativas de la convivencia escolar, en una
escuela pública de la ciudad de Cuenca. La investigación fue cuantitativa de tipo descriptiva, no
experimental, participaron 156 estudiantes de cuarto, quinto y sexto de educación básica para
responder al cuestionario de Convivencia Escolar, de Del Rey et al. (2017). Los resultados
arrojaron que las características sociodemográficas no marcan diferencias con referencia a las
percepciones positivas o negativas de convivencia escolar, los estudiantes en general perciben
una convivencia sin agresiones, pero sí con una alta disruptividad en el aula durante el proceso
de aprendizaje. |
