Abstract
Music is a universe full of variables and an art in its highest expression, since through it our
ancestors have been able to identify themselves and as the impact of this in Latin America both
the Ecuadorian popular music and the tropical Caribbean genre, have been developed with a
great reception that elevates it to its maximum expression. The fusion of the musical styles
exposed as a proposal, where a new sound style is presented with the respective musical
arrangements, carrying out a separate study of the genres that are merging in this case which
are: San Juanito and Merengue. Giving importance to our cultural and musical roots, covering a
new public, the San Juanito as a traditional and very popular rhythm of the country that contains
a wide indigenous richness and its romantic lyrics, the same that will be the object of analysis of
rhythmic and instrumental modifications. The music and the diverse genres can be modified or
adapted to another type of format in musical, structural, melodic, harmonic and rhythmic form.
These musical arrangements are formed by a wind quintet, a trombone, two trumpets in Bb, a
tenor saxophone and an alto saxophone harmonically accompanied by bass and electric piano,
the typical percussion of the merengue genre using the güiro, congas, tambora, these
arrangements will be analyzed and compared to reach the desired result. The compositions and
the adaptations for the writing and the orchestration of the winds, is considered the primary
objective to make a musical production uniting the two musical styles both San Juanito and
Merengue with a tropical orchestra format.
Resumen
La música es un universo lleno de variables y un arte en su expresión más alta, ya que por medio
de ella nuestros ancestros se han podido identificar, se han desarrollado con una gran acogida
que eleva a su máxima expresión en América Latina tanto la música popular ecuatoriana como
el género tropical caribeño. La fusión de los estilos musicales expuestos como propuesta, se
presenta un nuevo estilo sonoro con respectivos arreglos musicales, llevando a cabo un estudio
por separado de los géneros que se están fusionando en este caso que son: el San Juanito y el
Merengue, Dando importancia a nuestras raíces culturales y musicales abarcando un nuevo
público, el San Juanito como ritmo tradicional y popular del país, contiene una riqueza indígena
amplia y sus líricas románticas, el mismo que será objeto de análisis de modificaciones rítmicas
e instrumentales. La música y los géneros diversos pueden ser modificados o adaptados a otro
tipo de formato tanto de manera musical, estructural, melódica, armónica y rítmica. Estos arreglos
musicales formados por un quinteto de vientos, por un trombón, dos trompetas en Bb, y un
saxofón Tenor Bb y un Saxofón Alto Eb, acompañado con el bajo y el piano eléctrico y la
percusión del merengue el güiro, las congas, la tambora, dichos arreglos se analizarán y se
compararán para llegar al resultado deseado. Las composiciones y las adaptaciones para la
escritura y la orquestación, es considerado objetivo primordial mediante el proceso de producción
musical, uniendo a los dos estilos musicales.
