dc.description | En el contexto global actual, la juventud ha adoptado un rol significativo en la conformación de la realidad social y política a través de plataformas digitales de comunicación como Facebook y Twitter. Este estudio se enfoca en comprender cómo estas herramientas han influido en la participación y resistencia política de los jóvenes de la Universidad de Cuenca durante las protestas de octubre de 2019 en Ecuador. La investigación analiza cómo las plataformas digitales han facilitado la organización y propagación de movimientos sociales, al igual que ha ocurrido en otros países. La apropiación de estas tecnologías por parte de la juventud ha permitido la creación de espacios de participación y resistencia digital. Se explora el impacto de las plataformas digitales de comunicación en la generación de consciencia colectiva y en la difusión de mensajes de protesta. El estudio usa como método de investigación entrevistas con líderes juveniles universitarios, dirigentes políticos y voluntarios. Se busca comprender cómo las plataformas digitales influyeron en la participación política de los estudiantes durante las manifestaciones de 2019, y cómo estas herramientas permitieron la coordinación de acciones y la difusión de información. Los resultados de esta investigación proporcionarán una visión más clara de cómo las plataformas digitales de comunicación han transformado la participación y resistencia política en la juventud universitaria. Además, se pretende analizar cómo estas plataformas digitales han modificado las prácticas culturales y sociales de la juventud, facilitando la construcción de movimientos sociales y la expresión de demandas políticas. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | In the current global context, youth have taken on a significant role in shaping social and political reality through digital platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. This study focuses on understanding how these tools have influenced the participation and political resistance of young people from the University of Cuenca during the October 2019 protests in Ecuador. The research examines how digital platforms have facilitated the organization and spread of social movements, as has occurred in other countries. The youth's adoption of these technologies has allowed the creation of spaces for digital participation and resistance. The impact of digital communication platforms on the generation of collective awareness and the dissemination of protest messages is explored. The study employs interviews with university youth leaders, political leaders, and volunteers as its research method. The aim is to comprehend how digital platforms influenced the political participation of students during the 2019 demonstrations, and how these tools enabled the coordination of actions and information dissemination. The findings of this research will provide a clearer insight into how digital communication platforms have transformed participation and political resistance among university youth. Additionally, it aims to analyze how these digital platforms have modified cultural and social practices of the youth, facilitating the construction of social movements and the expression of political demands. | en_US |
