| Abstract: | This research was carried out on a 100 m2 plot, located in the San Bartolomé parish, Sigsig
canton, Azuay province, Ecuador. The objective was to identify the cultivation system
(conventional or semi-hydroponic) that best favors the growth and vegetative development of
the Castilla blackberry, and to characterize the nutrient content in the leaves under the two
systems. A two-month-old crop planted in two systems was used: a conventional cultivation
in soil with edaphic fertilization and drip irrigation, and a semi-hydroponic substrate in 70%
rice husk and 30% river sand with nutrient solution. With a completely randomized design and
eight repetitions, stem length and width, number of leaves per stem, number of basal and
secondary shoots, and foliar concentration of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S were measured. The results
did not present significant differences between the number of leaves and the stem length,
however, the semi-hydroponic system presented a significant growth in stem diameter, as well
as the number of basal and secondary shoots per stem. On the other hand, the two systems
appeared very similar nutrient concentrations at the foliar level, remaining within the
recommended ranges, except for nitrogen, which is in an excessive range in the conventional
system, and phosphorus, which is found in insufficient concentrations in the two systems. |
| Description: | La presente investigación se llevó a cabo en una parcela de 100 m2
, ubicada en la parroquia
San Bartolomé, cantón Sigsig, provincia Azuay, Ecuador. El objetivo fue identificar el sistema
de cultivo (convencional o semi-hidropónico) que mejor favorece el crecimiento y desarrollo
vegetativo de la mora de Castilla, y caracterizar el contenido de nutrientes en las hojas bajo
los dos sistemas. Se empleó un cultivo de dos meses de edad sembrado en dos sistemas:
cultivo convencional en suelo con fertilización edáfica y riego por goteo, y otro semi
hidropónico en sustrato 70% cascarilla de arroz y 30% arena de río con solución nutritiva.
Con un diseño completamente al azar y ocho repeticiones, se medió la longitud y ancho de
tallos, número de hojas por tallo, número de brotes basales y secundarios, y concentración
foliar de N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S. Los resultados no presentaron diferencias significativas entre el
número de hojas y la longitud de tallo, sin embargo, el sistema semi hidropónico presentó un
crecimiento significativo en el diámetro de tallo, al igual que aumentó el número de brotes
basales y secundarios por tallo. Por otro lado, los dos sistemas presentaron concentraciones
de nutrientes a nivel foliar muy similares, manteniéndose dentro de los rangos recomendados,
a excepción del nitrógeno que se encuentra en un rango excesivo en el sistema convencional
y el fósforo que se encuentra en concentraciones insuficientes en los dos sistemas. |
