Abstract

Violence against the couple has become a problem worldwide, which brings social, psychological, health and even death as consequences. For this reason, it is important to know the level of risk that victims experience after these events in order to take preventive measures. In this way, the objective of the research is to describe the levels of risk of violence, emotional crisis and risk factors for violence in women in a relationship with alleged aggressors who have been treated at the Institute of Criminology, Criminalistics and Intervention Family Psychosocial from the University of Cuenca. It had a quantitative approach, descriptive scope, non-experimental and cross-sectional design. The research population consisted of 30 users who attended the aforementioned institute, selected by non-probabilistic and intentional sampling. The instruments applied were the Serious Risk Prediction Scale Against Partners and the Scale to Evaluate Level of Emotional Crisis in Violence, which also contemplates the Scale to Evaluate Risk Factors in Violence. The results obtained were: the level of risk experienced by the victims and the level of emotional crisis experienced was low; the risk factors that predominated in the users were the intensity of the aggressions in the closing of the circles of violence, the level of affection according to the number of violent episodes experienced and the degree of acceptance of the situation according to their beliefs and values.
