| Abstract: | Socialization is a fundamental element of human action that allows for the transmission of
knowledge, ideas, signs, symbols, practices, and products from one generation to another and
between cultures. In Ecuador, low levels of socialization in general, but especially regarding
cultural heritage, are among the main problems surrounding the loss of memory and identity.
In the case of the Ecuadorian southern region, this issue has been reflected in the impacts
and losses that have occurred concerning the material and immaterial wealth possessed by
this region. This research examines the processes, types, phases, agents, and spaces of
socialization in relation to the cultural heritage of Sígsig canton. Methodologically, this work is
based on a qualitative approach with a narrative research design. The information gathering
techniques included semi-structured interviews, social mapping, and qualitative text analysis.
As a result of this investigation, it was found that there are processes of socialization of cultural
heritage, mainly facilitated by the family, specifically concerning the transmission of the
representative intangible heritage of this canton. Based on these results, it was concluded that
while the processes of socialization are evident, they are primarily focused on intangible
heritage. In contrast, concerning tangible heritage, there are risks due to the lack of initiatives
that transmit and promote these assets and heritage sites. |
| Description: | La socialización es un elemento primordial de la acción humana que permite que se transmita
conocimientos, ideas, signos, símbolos, prácticas y productos de generación en generación,
y entre culturas. En el Ecuador los bajos niveles de socialización en general, pero sobre todo
del patrimonio cultural, es uno de los principales problemas que rodean a la pérdida de
memoria e identidad. En el caso del austro ecuatoriano, esta problemática se ha reflejado en
los impactos y pérdidas que se han constituido alrededor de las riquezas patrimoniales,
materiales e inmateriales que posee esta región. En esta investigación se estudian los
procesos, tipos, fases, agentes y espacios de socialización en relación al patrimonio cultural
del cantón Sígsig. Metodológicamente, este trabajo se sustenta en un enfoque cualitativo con
un diseño de investigación narrativo. Las técnicas de levantamiento de información fueron
entrevistas semiestructuradas, cartografía social y análisis de texto cualitativo. A raíz de esta
investigación se obtuvo que existen procesos de socialización del patrimonio cultural,
principalmente propiciados desde la familia, específicamente relacionado con la transmisión
del patrimonio inmaterial representativo de este cantón. A partir de estos resultados se
concluyó que, si bien los procesos de socialización son notorios, están direccionados en
mayor medida al patrimonio inmaterial, mientras que, en lo referente del patrimonio material,
existen riesgos debido a la falta de iniciativas que transmitan y promocionen estos bienes y
sitios patrimoniales. |
