Abstract
The objective of this research is to explore and analyze the concept and pedagogical
possibilities of street art like didactic device in the subject of Cultural and Artistic Education
(ECA). It arises from experiences like teacher at ECA, and also from the work of more than
ten years like street artist. These experiences have led to knowing and analyzing different
educational contexts, diagnosing some common problems in the ECA area; which, with the
help of artistic work, have allowed street art projects to be transferred from the streets to the
classrooms; making it possible to explore different applied didactic strategies such as graffiti,
mural painting, and others. These techniques and experiences are explored and analyzed in
correlation with the Foucault´s device concept; and they allow to establish the concept of street
art as a didactic device in the ECA subject; exploring through a qualitative research
methodology, the theoretical foundation for these artistic and pedagogical experiences, and
quantitatively analyzing significant information regarding a better aesthetic and creative
development in superior basic students.
Resumen
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo, explorar y analizar el concepto y posibilidades
pedagógicas del arte urbano como dispositivo didáctico en la asignatura de Educación
Cultural y Artística (ECA). La misma surge a partir de experiencias como docente de ECA,
así como de la labor de más de diez años como artista urbano. Estas experiencias, han
llevado a conocer y analizar diferentes contextos educativos, diagnosticando algunos
problemas comunes en el área de ECA; los cuales, con ayuda del trabajo artístico, han
permitido trasladar proyectos de arte urbano de las calles a las aulas; posibilitando explorar
distintas estrategias didácticas aplicadas como el graffiti, la pintura mural, entre otras. Estas
técnicas y experiencias se exploran y analizan en correlación con el concepto de dispositivo
de Foucault; y permiten establecer el concepto de arte urbano como dispositivo didáctico en
la asignatura de ECA; explorando mediante una metodología de investigación cualitativa, la
fundamentación teórica a dichas experiencias artísticas y pedagógicas, y analizando de forma
cuantitativa información significativa respecto a un mejor desarrollo estético y creativo en los
estudiantes de básica superior.
