Tratamiento restaurador de la lesión cervical no cariosa con resina, revisión de la literatura

Abstract

The use of resins in the treatment of non-carious cervical lesions involves understanding the etiology of the lesion, characteristics and benefits of the material to be used in the restorative process in order to avoid clinical failures and long-term complications that put adherence and adaptation at risk. Objective: To analyze with the available evidence the reliability of the use of conventional resins for the treatment of non-carious cervical lesions in order to help the professional in the adequate decision making process to improve the clinical efficacy and survival of the restoration. Materials and methods: A literature search was performed using the online scientific databases PubMed, Google academic, Scoopus with a total of 33 articles; publications in English were included from the year 2017 to the year 2022 over a period of five years. Conclusion: The material to use in the restoration of LCNCs is going to depend on the state of the lesion, thus in shallow lesions without symptomatology the occlusal and psychological control of the patient is sufficient to treat the pathology, in more marked lesions the use of flowable resin is recommended due to its high flexibility and resistance to occlusal forces, in more severe cases and in which the esthetic requirement is paramount, the use of a CIV base or resin-reinforced CIV followed by thin and incremental layers of composite resin, or a fluid resin base followed by thin and incremental layers of composite resin is recommended.
