Abstract
The city of Cuenca has professional medical specialists who are recognized inside and outside the country. In addition, it offers several health centers such as clinics, hospitals, etc., with modern infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment to treat different diseases such as cancer, which is one of the conditions with the highest mortality rate. This fact has allowed this city to be in demand within the area of medical tourism. The Society to Fight Cancer (SOLCA) is an Institute that receives a large number of people with this disease. By having medical specialists in oncology within this area and offering equipment that favors the recovery of these patients, many people travel from other cities with the aim of recovering their health. In the city of Cuenca, there is no hotel that is focused on medical tourism, especially for people with cancer. This target requires special facilities, because they are not the same as a regular tourist or traveler, because their psychological and social conditions influence their state of mind due to the same disease. This project seeks to know the feasibility of offering a hotel that is focused on medical tourism, especially for cancer patients and their companions who are outside the city of Cuenca. Having to travel long distances in order to receive treatment, they require a place to stay until they recover their health.

Resumen
La ciudad de Cuenca, cuenta con especialistas profesionales en la medicina que son reconocidos dentro y fuera del país. Además, ofrece varios centros de salud como clínicas, hospitales, etc., con moderna infraestructura y equipos de vanguardia para tratar diferentes enfermedades como el cáncer, que es una de las afecciones con mayor índice de mortalidad. Este hecho ha permitido que esta ciudad tenga demanda dentro del área de turismo médico. La Sociedad de Lucha Contra el Cáncer (SOLCA), es un Instituto que recibe gran cantidad de personas con esta enfermedad. Al tener médicos especialistas en oncología dentro de esta área y ofrecer equipos que favorecen a la recuperación de estos pacientes, muchas personas viajan de otras ciudades con el objetivo de recuperar su salud. En la ciudad de Cuenca, no existe un hotel que esté enfocado en el turismo médico, especialmente para personas con cáncer. Este target requiere de facilidades especiales, debido a que no son iguales a un turista o viajero habitual, porque sus condiciones psicológicas y sociales influyen en su estado de ánimo por la misma enfermedad. El presente proyecto, busca conocer la viabilidad de ofrecer un hotel que esté enfocado en turismo médico, especialmente para pacientes oncológicos y sus acompañantes que se encuentran fuera de la ciudad de Cuenca. Al tener que viajar largas distancias con el objetivo de recibir un tratamiento, requieren de un lugar donde pernoctar hasta recuperar su salud.
