| Abstract: | As is universally known, older adults are in a stage of fragility in which they need care services for their personal care, this due to multiple diseases, the gradual deterioration of their body that induces them to isolation, depression, loneliness, or the appearance of several complex health conditions that are usually known by the name of geriatric syndromes. The sum of all these factors argues for the emergence of geriatric centers oriented to the care of the elderly. However, in the parish of Ricaurte there is a deficit of these spaces for the care and attention of the elderly. It is for this reason that the GADPR of Ricaurte, within its PDOT establishes as a strategy to help this vulnerable group, through the implementation of spaces where the elderly can be cared for. It is worth mentioning that in Ricaurte there is only a Type B Health Sub-center where the entire population of the different neighborhoods goes, but there are no places or facilities that provide care for
the elderly, much less spaces or areas to encourage their autonomy and
independence. Faced with this need, the GADPR of Ricaurte requested the development of this preliminary project through an agreement with the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Cuenca. The main objective was the architectural design for the Geriatric Center in the rural parish of Ricaurte, intended to provide care services for the attention and comprehensive care for the elderly.
For the development of this preliminary project, we first conducted
a research which allowed us to better understand the different needs of the elderly, as well as to know in depth what they are for, how they work and what are the services provided by the Geriatric Centers in
Ecuador. After this, a case study was carried out, which allowed us to obtain a broader approximation of the operation and formal, technological and functional solutions used in projects of the same nature.
Finally, prior to the design of the preliminary project, a site analysis was carried out in order to make an adequate diagnosis for the intervention in the
parish of Ricaurte, this was approached from a macro vision that embraces the entire parish, to a micro vision established by the intervention site.
All the research and analysis carried out were useful for the design of the
preliminary project of the Geriatric Center carried out in the last stage. |
| Description: | Como es de conocimiento universal, los adultos mayores se encuentran en una etapa de fragilidad en la que necesitan de servicios de atención para su cuidado personal, esto debido a múltiples enfermedades, al deterioro paulatino de su cuerpo que les induce al aislamiento, a la depresión, a la soledad, o a la aparición de varios estados de salud complejos
que se conocen habitualmente por el nombre de síndromes geriátricos.
La suma de todos estos factores argumenta la aparición de centros geriátricos orientados al cuidado de los ancianos.
Ahora bien, en la parroquia de Ricaurte existe un déficit de estos espacios para el cuidado y atención de los adultos mayores. Es por esta razón
que el GADPR de Ricaurte, dentro de su PDOT establece como estrategia
la ayuda a este grupo vulnerable, mediante la implementación de espacios donde el adulto mayor pueda ser atendido. Cabe mencionar que en
Ricaurte existe solo un Subcentro de Salud Tipo B donde acude toda la
población de los distintos barrios, pero no existen lugares o equipamientos que brinden el cuidado de los adultos mayores, ni mucho menos
espacios o áreas para incentivar la autonomía e independencia de los
mismos. Ante esta necesidad, el GADPR de Ricaurte solicitó el desarrollo de este
anteproyecto mediante un convenio con la Facultad de Arquitectura y
Urbanismo de la Universidad de Cuenca. El objetivo principal fue el diseño arquitectónico para el Centro Geriátrico dentro de la parroquia rural
de Ricaurte, destinado a prestar servicios de acogida para la atención y
cuidado integral a personas adultas mayores.
Para el desarrollo de este anteproyecto, primero se realizó una investigación la cual nos permitió entender de mejor manera las distintas necesidades que el adulto mayor presenta, además de conocer a fondo
para qué sirven, como funcionan y cuáles son los servicios que prestan
los Centros Geriátricos dentro del Ecuador. Después de esto, se realizó un
estudio de casos, el cual nos permitió obtener una aproximación más
amplia del funcionamiento y soluciones formales, tecnológicas y funcionales usadas en los proyectos de la misma índole.
Por último y previo al diseño del anteproyecto, se realizó un análisis del
sitio con el fin de realizar un diagnóstico adecuado para la intervención
en la parroquia de Ricaurte, este se abordó desde una visión macro que
abarca a toda la parroquia, hasta una visión micro establecida por él
sitio de intervención.
Toda la investigación y análisis realizados nos sirvieron para el diseño del
anteproyecto del Centro Geriátrico realizado en la última etapa. |
