Diseño de carteles informativos ilustrados de las plantas medicinales comercializadas en el “Mercado 10 de Agosto” en la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador

Abstract

The objective of this project is to design eight illustrated informative posters of the medicinal plants sold in the Mercado 10 de Agosto, with the aim of preserving ancestral knowledge. This document records the entire process followed within the project and is organized into three sections. Section one contains the justification and importance, the delimitation and scope of the project, and the conceptual foundations on which it was based. Section two consists of the implementation of the seven phases of the methodology proposed by Ambrose and Harris (2010b) and how each one was adapted to this project. Mention the methods that were used to complete each phase. Section three describes the entire design process of the project and how the different phases were approached. The investigation allowed obtaining all the relevant information to be taken into account, through the use of field visits, interviews, surveys, and bibliographic search. In phase two, design requirements, where he mentions the search for peers and the brief that would give us the guidelines for the final proposal. Continuing with the illustration system, he explains each method used, such as studio photography to have a record of the plants, the analog sketch as the first step in identifying the plants, and the digital illustrations as they were colored and textured, using brushes that were created for each plant. The poster system addresses how various layout proposals were made, the definition of the grid, the typography and the chromatics. In the implementation phase, the design of the final informative posters was elaborated, with the recommended corrections and the printing tests were carried out, where the adhesive vinyl was chosen as the appropriate material for the elaboration of the posters. Finally, the learning acquired during this process is described, how the use of Krita contributes from the perspective of suitable software for an illustration project, the grid as the basis of the design and recommendations so that this project can be expanded from other subjects and contexts. who decide to move towards this investigative line.
