| Abstract: | The aim of this work is to manipulate and reinterpret through pictorial mediums fragments of
commercial breaks from Ecuadorian television, considering the impact they had on my
childhood, that is to say, the period from 2004 to 2011. Throughout the research it is
observed how advertising transcends individuality and how these images are remembered by
a large sector of the Ecuadorian generation of the 2000s. At the same time, the mechanisms
that the brain uses when remembering advertising will be explored in depth.The research
explores the process that was carried out to ideate and conclude the paintings together with
their theoretical foundation and the referents from which they are nourished, with the
transfiguration of the common place being a key element for the project.As a result, seven
paintings were created based on Ecuadorian commercial cuts by manipulating and
transfiguring them to turn them into new metaphors that contribute to the field of
contemporary art, allowing a much wider public to approach this sphere and at the same time
opening up the discussion about our consumption of images. |
| Description: | El objetivo del presente trabajo es manipular y reinterpretar mediante medios pictóricos
fragmentos de cortes comerciales de la televisión ecuatoriana considerando el impacto que
estos tuvieron en la época de mi niñez, es decir el periodo desde el 2004 hasta el 2011. A lo
largo de la investigación se observa cómo la publicidad trasciende de la individualidad y
cómo estas imágenes son recordadas por un amplio sector de la generación ecuatoriana de
los 2000. A su vez se profundizará en los mecanismos que realiza el cerebro al momento de
recordar publicidad. La investigación explora el proceso que se realizó para idear y concluir
las pinturas junto a su fundamentación teórica y los referentes de los cuales se nutre, siendo
la transfiguración del lugar común un elemento clave para el proyecto. De este modo se
realizaron siete pinturas que parten de los cortes comerciales ecuatorianos alterados a
través de la reinterpretación para finalmente ser nuevas metáforas que aportan al campo del
arte contemporáneo, permitiendo a un público mucho más amplio acercarse al campo de las
artes a la vez que abre la discusión sobre nuestro consumo de imágenes. |
