| Abstract: | OBJECTIVE: The investigation was to Determine the prevalence of the low weight, overweight and obesity in niños/as of the School Cazadores de los Ríos of the Cuenca city.-This investigation comprises of the project. Study of the nutritional state
of the children of basic education of the Cuenca city. 2010 - 2011. Impelled by the School of Infirmary of the Universidad de Cuenca.-in which students participate, graduate and educational from this school.
MATERIAL AND METHOD: One is a study of cross section that allowed to determine the prevalence us of malnutrition in niños/as of the School.- Universe: Niños/as registered in school year 2010-2011 was constituted
by 297.- SAMPLE: Niños/as worked with a sample of of 75, included between the
second and seventh of basic, obtained with the statistical formula.- TECHNIQUES AND INSTRUMENTS: Interview that were realized to the parents of family of niños/as
investigated and anthropometric measurement.
Instruments that were used are: • The tables of Index of Corporal Mass (IMC) • The curves of growth NCHS • Form of surveys on the socioeconomic condition.- RESULTS: they demonstrate that the 22,66% of niños/as present/display low weight, 6.66% has overweight related to the type of feeding, sedentary style of life and the 69,33% correspond to niños/as of normal weight.- CONCLUSION: the found nutritional problems are related to socioeconomic conditions, nutritional styles of life, habits and level of access to the nutrients.AU |
| Description: | Esta investigación forma parte del proyecto. Estudio del estado nutricional de los niños de educación básica del cantón Cuenca. 2010 - 2011. Impulsado por la Escuela de Enfermería de la Universidad de Cuenca, en el cual participan estudiantes, egresadas y docentes de esta escuela.- MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: Se trata de un estudio de corte transversal que nos permitió determinar la prevalencia de la malnutrición en los niños/as de la Escuela Cazadores de los Ríos.- Universo: Estuvo constituido por 297 niños/as matriculados en el año lectivo 2010-2011.- MUESTRA: Se trabajó con una muestra de de 75 niños/as, comprendidos entre el segundo y séptimo de básica, obtenidos con la fórmula estadística.
TÉCNICAS E INSTRUMENTOS: Entrevista que se realizó a los padres de familia de los niños/as investigados y medición antropométrica.- Instrumentos que se utilizaron son: •Las tablas de Índice de Masa Corporal (IMC) •Las curvas de crecimiento NCHS •Formulario de encuestas sobre la condición socioeconómica.- RESULTADOS: demuestran que el 22.66% de las niños/as presentan bajo peso, el 6,66% tiene sobrepeso ligado al tipo de alimentación, estilo de vida sedentario y el 69.33% corresponde a niños/as de peso normal.- CONCLUSIÓN: los problemas nutricionales encontrados están relacionados con condiciones socioeconómicas, estilos de vida, hábitos nutricionales y nivel de acceso a los nutrientes.AU |
