Abstract: | Background: the motivational system constitutes the basic level of sexual desire
which is experienced as a specific sensation that moves women to seek sexual
experiences or to be receptive to them.
Objective: to know the relationship between sexual motivation and sexual activity in
women who come to the GADPEO Medical Center for consultation.
Methodology: the research has a cross-sectional quantitative approach with a
scale-type design that has a correlational scope. The sample consisted of 339
women. A form was elaborated with social, demographic and clinical data,
questions on couple relationship, motivation and the EVAS M scale. The statistical
analysis was carried out using the SPSS program; the presentation of the results
with frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean and standard deviation; to contrast
the hypothesis the chi square (p<0,005); to measure association the prevalence
ratio and its 95% confidence interval.
Results: data were obtained from 339 women with a mean age of 39.4 years and
standard deviation of 13.3. The most frequent motivations were: for intimacy
(24.8%), responsive desire (22.7%), and sexual desire (21.5%) and to please
(18.3%). The 31.9% presented an EVAS score below 38 with a high probability of
sexual dysfunction. Motivation is significantly associated with dysfunction in all
dimensions (p<0.001). Conclusions: sexual motivation functions as a protective
factor of having dysfunction in the different dimensions of sexual activity. |
buscar experiencias sexuales o a mostrarse receptiva a ellas.
aritmética y desvió estándar; para contrastar la hipótesis el chi cuadrado (p<0,05);
