Abstract: | Background: the state of pregnancy leads women to have some psychological, social and biological
changes; so sexual function can be affected at this stage.
Objective: to identify the prevalence and factors associated with sexual activity in pregnant patients
treated at the Municipal Hospital of Cuenca during the period March - August 2022.
Methodological design: quantitative, analytical, cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 175
pregnant women from the gynecology area of the Municipal Hospital of Cuenca. A form based on
the EVAS-M questionnaire was applied. The analysis was performed in the statistical programs SPSS
24 and Epi-Info 07.
Results: the average age was 28.05±6.18 years (95% CI: 27.12-28.97), the most frequent age group
was 26-32 years (41.1%); 52.6% were married, 80.6% had a high school education, 64.0% lived in
urban areas, and 84.6% were Catholic. 61.7% had 27 or more gestational weeks; 40% have had a
single gesta; 77.1% have information about sexuality during pregnancy; 42.9% had sexual intercourse
2 times a week; 37.1% had their last sexual intercourse during the first trimester; 63.4% considered
that their self-esteem is medium level and 62.9% that sexual activity causes little harm to the fetus.
Significant mean differences were found for groups defined by age, residence, marital status, level of
education, religion, having information on sexuality during pregnancy, coital frequency, last sexual
intercourse according to trimester of pregnancy, level of self-esteem and considering damage to the
fetus.
Conclusions: sexual dysfunction in pregnant women increases in the third trimester of pregnancy |
Description: | Antecedentes: el estado de gestación conlleva en la mujer a tener algunos cambios psicológicos,
sociales y biológicos; por lo que la función sexual puede verse afectada en esta etapa.
Objetivo: identificar la prevalencia y factores asociados a la actividad sexual en pacientes
embarazadas atendidas en el Hospital Municipal de Cuenca durante el periodo marzo – agosto 2022.
Diseño metodológico: estudio cuantitativo, analítico, transversal. La muestra fue de 175
embarazadas del área de ginecología del Hospital Municipal de Cuenca. Se aplicó un formulario
basado en el cuestionario EVAS–M. El análisis se realizó en los programas estadísticos SPSS 24 y
Epi-Info 07.
Resultados: la edad promedio fue de 28,05±6,18 años (IC95%: 27,12–28,97), el grupo de edad más
frecuente fue 26–32 años (41,1%); 52,6% eran casadas, 80,6% tenían nivel de secundaria, 64,0%
vivían en zonas urbanas y 84,6% eran católicas. 61,7% tenían 27 o más semanas gestacionales; 40%
han tenido una sola gesta; 77,1% tienen información acerca de la sexualidad durante el embarazo;
42,9% tuvieron relaciones sexuales 2 veces por semana; 37,1% tuvieron su última relación sexual
durante el primer trimestre; 63,4% consideraron que su autoestima es de nivel medio y 62,9% que la
actividad sexual causa poco daño al feto. Se encontraron diferencias de medias significativas para
grupos definidos por la edad, residencia, estado civil, nivel de instrucción, religión, tener información
sobre sexualidad en el embarazo, frecuencia coital, última relación sexual según trimestre del
embarazo, nivel de autoestima y considerar daño al feto.
Conclusiones: la disfunción sexual de la embarazada se incrementa en el tercer trimestre de
gestación. |
