Plan estratégico para la Asociación de Recicladores Urbanos de Cuenca para el período 2013-2018

Abstract

Entrepreneurial initiatives have emerged either spontaneously or as a result of several years of experience in a particular sector of the economy. However, many of them have failed through time because while some were able to stand out in their sectors due to timely decision making and action, some others perished as a consequence of lack planning. Strategic planning is vital for any type of organization because through this kind of planning, the initial purposes that justify the existence or the organization can be achieved. For this reason, we have collaborated in the development of a Strategic Plan for Cuenca’s Urban Recycler Association (ARUC) for the period 2013-2018. This organization performs its activities in the recycling sector, focusing on the collection, classification, and commercialization of recyclable materials. The accomplishment of the strategic plan involved the following steps. First, both the recycling process with its most relevant aspects and the association as such were described. Then the Strategic Thought was established, objectives were proposed, and the internal and external analyses of the corporation were made. Also, strategies that will drive the organization structuring forward were devised, and plans of action were proposed. Finally, the organization is recommended to channel its efforts for its own strengthening with the purpose of setting solid bases that will allow its development and growth.
