| Abstract: | The accelerated demographic growth and the constant political conflicts have forced social
housing to adapt to the circumstances of the era, the need to grant shelter to families in need has
pushed the focus to be on the quantity leaving in the background the quality of the social housing.
Moreover, the changes in the way of living of the habitants have affected the conditions of habitability
and the way of conceiving projects of social interest. Therefore, it is essential to study the parameters
and indicators that define habitability in the housing, to be able to evaluate and obtain an index of
habitability. Using these series of parameters, 3 study cases in the city of Cuenca Ecuador were
analyzed with the purpose of knowing the degree of habitability, and the positive and the negative
aspects that these projects present. Finally, based on the results obtained in the local context, design
strategies are applied to conceive a habitable social housing prototype with the ability to adapt to the
different needs of its inhabitants. |
| Description: | El crecimiento poblacional acelerado y los constantes conflictos políticos, han obligado a la
vivienda social a adaptarse a las circunstancias de la época, la necesidad de otorgar cobijo a familias
necesitadas, de alguna manera han forzado a enfocarse en la cantidad de viviendas, dejando en segundo
plano la calidad de las mismas. Adicionalmente, los cambios en los modos de habitar de los usuarios
han afectado las condiciones de habitabilidad y la forma de concebir proyectos de interés social. Por
consiguiente, resulta importante estudiar los parámetros e indicadores que definen la habitabilidad
en la vivienda, con la finalidad de poder valorar y obtener un índice de habitabilidad. A partir de esta
serie de parámetros, se analizan 3 casos de estudio en la ciudad de Cuenca Ecuador, con el propósito
de conocer el grado de habitabilidad, aspectos positivos y negativos que estos proyectos presentan.
Finalmente, con base en los resultados obtenidos en el contexto local, se aplican estrategias de
diseño para concebir un prototipo de vivienda social habitable con la capacidad de adaptarse a las
diferentes necesidades de sus habitantes. |
