Abstract
The Covid 19 pandemic affected many tourist establishments because people no longer wanted to or could not travel, therefore, the Tourism Foundation for Cuenca and the Ministry of Tourism created the "Cuenca Biosafe and
Sustainable" badge with the aim of reactivating this sector. This degree work aims to comparatively study the application of sustainable tourism good practices in four-star hotels in the Historic Center of the city of Cuenca-Ecuador that have the badge "Cuenca Biosafe and Sustainable". Case: Hotel El Conquistador, Hotel Los Balcones and Hotel Santa Lucía. First, the background and characteristics of the badge will be known, and then
diagnose the current reality of the aforementioned establishments based on the sustainable tourism good practices of the Rainforest Alliance version 2005. Finally, a thorough comparison will be made between the three hotels using bar charts.
Resumen
La pandemia por la Covid 19 afecto a muchos establecimientos turísticos
debido a que las personas ya no querían o no podían viajar, por lo tanto, la Fundación de Turismo para Cuenca y el Ministerio de Turismo crearon la insignia “Cuenca Biosegura y Sostenible” con el objetivo de reactivar este sector. Este trabajo de titulación tiene por objetivo estudiar comparativamente la aplicación de buenas prácticas de turismo sostenible en hoteles cuatro estrellas del Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Cuenca-Ecuador que cuentan con la insignia ''Cuenca Biosegura y Sostenible”. Caso: Hotel El Conquistador, Hotel Los Balcones y Hotel Santa Lucía. En primer lugar, se conocerá los Antecedentes y características de la insignia, para luego diagnosticar la realidad actual de los establecimientos mencionados con base en las Buenas Prácticas de Turismo Sostenible de la Rainforest Alliance versión 2005.
Finalmente, se realizará una comparación minuciosa entre los tres hoteles utilizando gráficos de barras.
