Abstract
The SARS-CoV-2 virus has challenged the health systems of the Latin American continent causing a health, economic and social phenomenon. The efficiency with which it spreads throughout Latin America, infecting the population, suggests that it is much more difficult to contain. This situation pushes to the adoption of radical measures that generate a massive population and epidemiological impact such as confinement, a social, economic and sanitary measure that is conceptualized as the most radical strategy to slow down the massive contagion and flatten the epidemic curve, but this measure has great implications in the reality of the population.
Resumen
El virus del SARS-CoV-2 ha desafiado a los sistemas de salud del continente Latinoamericano provocando un fenómeno sanitario, económico y social. La eficiencia con la que se dispersa por el territorio latinoamericano infectando a la población hace suponer que es mucho más difícil de contener. Esta situación empuja a la toma de medidas radicales que generen un impacto masivo poblacional y epidemiológico como el confinamiento, una medida social, económica y sanitaria que se conceptualiza como la estrategia más radical para generar desaceleración del contagio masivo y aplanar la curva epidémica, pero esta medida tiene implicaciones grandes en la realidad de la población.
