| Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is the theoretical-practical study of flashback and
counterpoint structure, starting with the analysis of the narrative construction in films,
until obtaining tools and integrating them into feature film scriptwriting. The first
section explores the concept of flashback and its two most common forms, circuit
and bifurcated, based on the philosopher Gilles Deleuze (1987). In addition, the
structure of counterpoint is approached from the notion of music according to the
French composer Michel Chion (1993). In the second part, a corpus of essential films
on flashback and counterpoint structure was elaborated, to begin with, we find
Citizen Kane (1941) by Orson Welles, then we analyze the film 21 Grams (2003) by
Alejandro Gonzáles Iñárritu and we conclude with the film The Skin I Live In (2011)
by Pedro Almodóvar. Finally, in the third section, we detected relevant techniques
and methods within the flashback and counterpoint structure. Finally, on this
theoretical basis, the writing of the feature film script 2050 is established, thus
conceiving fundamental pillars for future hypotheses and questions in the chair of
film writing. |
| Description: | El propósito del presente trabajo es el estudio teórico-práctico del flashback y la
estructura de contrapunto, iniciando con el análisis de la construcción narrativa en
las películas, hasta obtener herramientas e integrarlas en la escritura de guion de
largometraje. Para esto se dividió la investigación en tres partes: en la primera
sección, se explora el concepto de flashback y sus dos formas más comunes, en
circuito y bifurcado, basado en el filósofo Gilles Deleuze (1987), además, se aborda
la estructura de contrapunto desde la noción de la música, según el compositor
francés Michel Chion (1993). En la segunda parte, se elaboró un corpus de películas
esenciales sobre el flashback y la estructura de contrapunto, para empezar, se
encuentra Citizen Kane (1941) de Orson Welles, después se analiza la cinta 21
gramos (2003) de Alejandro Gonzáles Iñárritu y se concluye con el filme La piel que
habito (2011) de Pedro Almodóvar. Finalmente, en la tercera sección se detectó
técnicas y métodos relevantes dentro del flashback y la estructura de contrapunto.
Por último, sobre esta base teórica se establece la escritura del guion de
largometraje 2050, concibiendo así, pilares fundamentales para futuras hipótesis e
interrogantes en la cátedra de escritura cinematográfica. |
