Los espacios de transición como articuladores de arquitectura en la obra de Antonio Bonet. Una mirada a 2 escalas

Abstract

Transition spaces within architecture have been the subject of constant study, since they represent the change of environment between interior and exterior, which has been approached in different ways depending on each era and each culture. The modern movement has not been the exception, on the contrary, the new construction techniques, criteria and materials have allowed its transition spaces to acquire very characteristic elements, where generating the spatial continuum stands out as a tool for its execution. In the search to focus the study on modern architecture carried out in Latin America, the figure of the architect Antonio Bonet Castellana stands out, who, despite his Catalan origin, carried out an extensive catalog of works in Argentina and Uruguay, from his arrival in 1938 until his return to Spain in 1963. From this catalogue, the present investigation takes 3 works: the Oks House, the Levin House and the Ed. Av. del Libertador 3640, for the analysis of the transition space. The objective of the research is to identify and analyze the design strategies that the author uses in the transition spaces of the aforementioned works, which is achieved starting from the reconstruction of the case studies, understanding the formal values of each work, then with the study criteria of spatial definition, spatial sequence, spatial structure, topography and materiality; delve into the values of the transition areas of it.
