| Abstract: | The AC is most often linked to cholecystolithiasis (95%). It is still controversial remains as to whether the germs are responsible for the genesis of inflammation and complications of AC, also the link with the time evolution of the process(4).
OBJECTIVE: To determine the prevalence of local complications of the AC and its bacteriological association with cholecystectomized patients of Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital, between 2010 and 2011.
METHODS: An observational, transversal and analytical study, conducted from June 2010 and for one year.
RESULTS: The gallstone cholecystitis accounted for 94.6%; 63.1% of patients with AC >72 hours; the bacteria isolated was E. coli; the most common complication was the emphysematous AC, followed by pyocholecyst CA; 36.2% of registered crops >100000 CFU; bacterial counts <100000 CFU for emphysematous gallbladder; and, counts >100000 CFU for pyocholecyst and necrosis.
CONCLUSIONS: The positivity in these crops is notorious, and complications are more severe the greater the time evolution of the AC, the bacterial load is very significant for vesicular pyocholecyst and necrosis.

| Description: | La colecistitis aguda (CA), se vincula con mayor frecuencia a la colecistolitiasis (95%). Aún es controvertido dilucidar en qué medida los gérmenes son responsables de la génesis en la inflamación y complicaciones de la CA, así mismo el vínculo con el tiempo de evolución del proceso (4).
OBJETIVO: Determinar la prevalencia de las complicaciones locales de la CA y su asociación bacteriológica en pacientes colecistectomizados del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso entre 2010 y 2011.
METODOS: Es un estudio observacional, transversal y analítico que se realizó a partir de junio del 2010 por un año.
RESULTADOS: La colecistitis litiásica representó el 94.6%, el 63.1% de pacientes con CA >72 horas, la bacteria aislada fue la E. coli, la complicación más frecuente fue la CA enfisematosa seguida del piocolecisto, el 36.2% de cultivos registraron > 100000 UFC, los recuentos bacterianos < 100000 UFC para vesícula enfisematosa y recuentos > 100000 UFC para piocolecisto y necrosis.
CONCLUSIONES: La positividad en los cultivos es marcada, y las complicaciones son más graves mientras mayor es el tiempo de evolución de la CA, la carga bacteriana es muy significativa para el piocolecisto y necrosis vesicular.
