Abstract: | San Gerardo, located in Girón, province of Azuay-Ecuador, is a parish with many

lived. The local history from the people’s perspective is what is collected in this final
graduation work, stories, stories, and testimony of life around the farms in San Gerardo built
based on the memory of the peasants who worked there during the 50s and 90s. Through the
peasants' memory, details of daily life, the employer-worker relationship, and aspects of the
social configurations within three haciendas present in this area, places of memory and
Agrarian Reform, are approached.
