Depresión y violencia domestica en mujeres adultas y adolescentes: una revisión sistemática

Abstract

Background: women who are victims of violence and remain in the cycle of forgiveness and abuse and even those with a single act of violence could develop mental disorders such as depression. Objectives: to determine the prevalence of depression in adolescent and adult women with domestic violence: A systematic review. Methods: systematic review, using the following search engines: Scopus, Elsevier, Latindex, Redalyc, Scielo, Hindawi, Pubmed and The Lancet, free text was used as a search method with the following words: "Depression", " family violence "," domestic violence "," violence against women "," sexual violence "" psychological violence ", for their connections the following" AND "or" OR "were used. Results: a total of 23 articles were included, finding a frequency of depression in women who had suffered domestic violence that ranged between 7.2 and 83.3%, in the same way it was observed that the most frequent of the subtypes of violence was psychological study with a study that registered 96.15%, additionally it was found in 9 of the 23 studies that there was a statistically significant relationship between depression and domestic violence. Conclusion and implication: there is a relationship between family violence suffered by women and the development of depression, which is why these should be evaluated in a global way when they consult both for emergencies and in primary care, in order to identify cases of risk and be able to address them appropriately, thus avoiding adverse outcomes due to both violence and depression.
