Abstract: | Introduction: the speech and language disorders are pathology frequents in the childhood, which occupies to parents and health professionals; had a prevalence of around 5-8% in pre-school and 4% in schoolchildren, in Mexico the prevalence is 42%, and their more important is the alters in the child communication with our parents and guardians. To detect the disorders time is obligation.
Objective: determined the dyslalia functional prevalence in children of 5 years to 8 years enrolled in first enrolled in first, second and third basic of “Azogues City” school in the period from February to August 2012.
Methodology: Is a study of prevalence in a population of 113 students, was detected the dyslalia by the TAR test and were collected form demographic data, used descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze the results.
Results: The prevalence of dyslalia was 36%, the average age of the population stood at 6.23 years old with a SD of 0,908 years, the most prevalent sex was female with a 52% and males sex is 48%, the 67% were parental have primary education, the 23% high, the 5% and with same percentage no amount of instruction education.
Conclusions: Age is associated with the presence of dyslalia in this population; sex and parental education are not associated with this disease.

Description: | Se trata de un estudio de prevalencia, en una población de 113 estudiantes, se evalúa la dislalia mediante el test TAR y mediante un formulario se recogieron datos demográficos, se utilizó la estadística descriptiva e inferencial para el análisis de los resultados. Resultados: La prevalencia de la dislalia fue del 36%, la media de edad de la población se ubicó en 6.23 años con un DS de 0.908 años; el sexo de mayor prevalencia fue el femenino con un 52% y el sexo masculino con un 48%; el 67% fueron de estudiantes cuyos padres tienen una instrucción educativa primaria; el 23% secundaria, el 5% superior y con igual porcentaje padres que no tienen instrucción educativa. Conclusiones: La edad se asocia para presencia de la dislalia en esta población, el sexo y la instrucción educativa de los padres no se asocian con esta patología.au |
