Estudio de factibilidad para la ampliación y mejora del servicio de parqueadero universitario mediante la implementación de un sistema de parqueo vertical, inteligente y automatizado en el Campus Central de la Universidad de Cuenca

Abstract

The number of vehicles is constantly growing nationally, in 2020 the province of Azuay is in third place in the number of vehicles per 1000 inhabitants (168), in the canton of Cuenca the number of vehicles is growing at an average of 7% year by year, in the Central Campus of the University of Cuenca has shown the over demand for the parking service, however, the supply remains constant. People waste time looking for a parking space, affecting the development of daily work, this is one of the critical problems. The delimitation of this problem is entered at the University of Cuenca. This project analyzes the feasibility and profitability of increasing the number of parking spaces using new and modern vertical parking mechanisms. This type of technology was initially developed in Korea and is currently widely used throughout the world due to the multiple benefits it offers in relation to traditional parking, with space optimization, safety and environmental impact as its main features. This new parking model, automated and intelligent, aims to be the solution to the excess demand for parking spaces and through it, the opportunity to generate economic benefits for the university, the market study shows that most of the people surveyed have difficulty finding a parking space and would be willing to use a new parking alternative, the financial analysis determined the feasibility and viability of the project through the NPV of $ 178,141, IRR of 23% and a recovery of investment in 7 years
