| Abstract: | Background: Lumber pain is one of the most frequent problemas around the
world. Deriving to economic expenses, social impact and the interruption of their
daily activities. In most cases it’s impossible to find the source of the pain.The
complementary exams such as imaging and laboratory tests in many cases don’t
provide any prominent clinical information on the patient’s case. Therefore, exist
scales that will provide more specific data on measuring the level of pain and the
repercussions on the functionality such as the Oswestry Scale.
Objective: Determine the frequency of lumbar pain and the level of disability
throughout the Oswestry survey online in patients of the rehabilitation center
Armonía. Cuenca March-September 2021.
Methods: The following study has a descriptive and observative cross cut
approach. Considering a population of 230 people from which we take a sample
of 98 people with lumbar pain belonging to the rehabilitation center Armonía,
treatment will be registered in the data base for the period of March-September
2021. The selected will then fill out the Oswestry survey online. The data will be
analyzed using the computerized statistics program SPSS v.25.0.
Results: At the end of the study we found 114 patients that presented lumbar pain,
which represent a 49.6% of the data collected, where we then considered only 98
patients to evaluate their level of disability throughout the Oswestry Scale which
resulted in 72.4% presented minimum functional limitation, with a higher frequency
in females resulting in 43.9% , for the ages between 40-64 years in 41.80% and
for the occupation of administrative science in 39.80%.
Conclusión: The disability by lumbar pain in this case with a minimum functional
limitation caused by lumbar pain is prevalent in females between the ages of 40-
64 years old and in administrative occupations. The Oswestry Scale shows us from
a psychosocial point of view the effects of lumbar pain in those who suffer from it. |
| Description: | Antecedentes. el dolor lumbar es uno de los problemas más frecuentes a nivel
mundial, derivando repercusiones económicas, sociales y en las actividades
básicas de la vida diaria, sin embargo, el origen del dolor en la mayoría de casos
no es posible de identificar, y las pruebas complementarias tanto de imagen como
de laboratorio en muchos de los casos pueden aportar poco ante la clínica que
presentan estos pacientes. Por consiguiente, sobresalen escalas que aportan
datos más específicos con respecto a la cuantificación del dolor y la repercusión
en la funcionalidad como es la escala Oswestry.
Objetivo. Determinar la frecuencia de lumbalgia y nivel de discapacidad mediante
el cuestionario Oswestry en línea en pacientes del centro de Rehabilitación
Armonía. Cuenca marzo - septiembre 2021.
Métodos. El presente estudio tiene un enfoque descriptivo, observacional, de
corte transversal. Considerando una población de 230 personas se realizará con
una muestra de 98 personas con lumbalgia pertenecientes al Centro de
Rehabilitación Armonía cuyas atenciones serán registradas en la base de datos
en el periodo de marzo - septiembre 2021. A los seleccionados se les aplicará el
cuestionario Oswestry en línea.
Los datos serán analizados mediante el programa estadístico informático SPSS
v.25.0.
Resultados. Al terminar la investigación se encontraron 114 pacientes que
presentaron dolor lumbar, que corresponde al 49,6% de los datos obtenidos, de
los mismo se tomó en cuenta a 98 pacientes para evaluar el índice de
discapacidad lumbar mediante la escala oswestry en donde se obtuvo que el
72,4% presenta una limitación funcional mínima, con mayor frecuencia en el sexo
femenino con 43,90% edades entre 40-64 años de edad con el 41,80% y en la
ocupación de ciencias administrativas con el 39,80%.
Conclusión. La discapacidad lumbar, en este caso con una limitación funcional
mínima causada por el dolor lumbar es más prevalente en el sexo femenino, en
un intervalo etario de 40 a 64 años y en ocupaciones administrativas. La escala
de discapacidad Oswestry muestra desde un enfoque psicosocial los efectos de
la lumbalgia en quienes la padecen. |
