Abstract
The article makes an approximation to the instrumental organic constitutive of the cathedral chapel of Cuenca, Ecuador in the 19th century; based on unpublished sources from the archives of the Archdiocesan Curia. From the classification of Curt Sachs and Erich Moritz von Horbonste, the study deals with a description of the instruments used and their function within the institutional corpus, as well as trying to reconstruct the timbral event highlighting the originality of the cathedral chapel
Resumen
El artículo realiza una aproximación al orgánico instrumental constitutivo de la capilla catedralicia de Cuenca, Ecuador en el siglo XIX, sobre la base de fuentes inéditas del Archivo de la Curia Arquidiocesana. El estudio aborda, desde la clasificación deCurt Sachs y Erich Moritz von Horbonste, una descripción de los instrumentos utilizados y su función dentro del corpus institucional; de igual manera, se intenta reconstruir el acontecer tímbrico destacando la originalidad de la capilla catedralicia
