Violencia en la pareja durante la pandemia por COVID-19 en estudiantes de décimo ciclo de las carreras de la Facultad de Psicología de la Universidad de Cuenca – Azuay, período 2021

Abstract

Intimate partner violence is an exercise of power that consists in inflicting physical, psychological or sexual harm, voluntarily, on the other member of the dyad, regardless of sex, within a relationship that may or may not be formalized. Intimate partner violence can be a precedent to future dysfunctional relationships, this phenomenon is influenced by contextual factors such as the COVID-19 virus pandemic that has affected the overall health of society. The purpose of the research work was to describe the frequency of intimate partner violence and its constitutive domains of abuse in times of COVID-19 in a population of 53 tenth cycle students of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Cuenca, in the period March 2021 - August 2021. The instruments used were the CUVINO, which evaluated the constitutive behaviors of violence and victimization in couple relationships; and a sociodemographic file that collected information related to sex, career, status of the partner and time of romantic relationship, of those evaluated. Results were obtained on the domains of abuse constitutive of partner violence, which describe that the most frequent was detachment at a mild level with 43.8%, and a mean score of M = 3.04; same domain of abuse that was the most frequent in the analysis according to sociodemographic variables. These results allow a generalizing conclusion that violence in the partner was present in the students of the tenth cycle of the careers of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Cuenca, at a mild level with the domain of abuse of detachment as the most frequent
