Frecuencia de ansiedad y estrés laboral en médicos, enfermeras e internos del Hospital Básico de Paute. 2021

Abstract

Background: the overload of work and high work demands have caused many doctors, nurses and interns to feel both physical and emotional exhaustion derived from the anxiety and work stress they endure. General Objective: to determine the frequency of anxiety and work stress in doctors, nurses and interns of the Basic Hospital of Paute in the year 2021. Methodology: a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study. The universe was made up of doctors, nurses and interns from the Basic Hospital of Paute. Internationally validated questionnaires were used to determine generalized anxiety disorder “GAD 7” and work stress “Wolfgang stress inventory for health professionals”. A database was constructed using the Microsoft Office Excel 2013 program and analyzed using the IBM SPSS Statistics V.25 statistical software. The data were presented as simple tables and descriptive statistics were used for their analysis. Results: the mean age of the 107 participants were 31,6 years ( 9,1 years), 71% were women. The 67,3% of the participant presented anxiety, with mild symptoms being the most frequent (29%). The 77,6% of the participants presented moderate to severe stress, the most frequent being moderate stress (54,2%). Conclusions: A high frequency of anxiety and work stress was found in the study population. Women presented a higher frequency of anxiety and work stress than men. The group "others" within hospital positions presented the highest percentage of anxiety and work stress.
