Abstract: | Objective. This research aims to identify the factors that influence the onset of sexual activity in the / students of the College Section afternoon Miguel Moreno Ordonez in Cuenca Canton school period 2011 -2012.
Materials and Methods. It is a descriptive, we worked with a finite universe of 436 students from the College Section afternoon Miguel Moreno Ordonez.
As research techniques was used to survey students prior parental consent and assent from them.
The results are presented in tables statistics are SPSS and Excel programs.
RESULTS: The average age of students is between 17 and 19 years. Risk factors identified were: owning couple, being in love, violence and miscommunication search unreliable sources as the Internet and peers of the same age, lack of information on health centers to ask about sexuality, substance use (alcohol and drugs). Protective factors were: abstinence regard to substance, importance of religion, positive attitude towards sexuality issue. Showed no influence: mother's pregnancy during adolescence, time spent living with parents, self-esteem, peer group pressure. They agreed to have initiated sexual activity 34.4% of the total with an average age of onset between 14 and 16 years.
CONCLUSIONS: Substance use and lack of family communication are strongly associated with the onset of sexual activity among students. |
Description: | Objetivo. La presente investigación pretende determinar los factores que influyen en el inicio de la vida sexual activa en las/los estudiantes de la sección vespertina del Colegio Miguel Moreno Ordóñez del Cantón Cuenca en el periodo lectivo 2011 -2012. Materiales y Métodos. Es una investigación descriptiva; se trabajó con un universo finito de 436 estudiantes de la sección vespertina del Colegio Miguel Moreno Ordóñez. Como técnicas de investigación se utilizó la encuesta a los estudiantes previo consentimiento de sus padres y asentimiento de ellos. Los resultados son presentados en tablas estadísticas realizadas en los programas SPSS y Excel. RESULTADOS: La edad promedio de los estudiantes es entre los 17 y 19 años. Los factores de riesgo identificados fueron: poseer pareja, estar enamorado, falta de comunicación intrafamiliar y búsqueda en fuentes poco fidedignas como el internet y pares de la misma edad, falta de información sobre centros de salud para consultar sobre sexualidad, consumo de sustancias (alcohol y drogas). Los factores de protección fueron: abstinencia respecto al consumo de sustancias, importancia de la religión, actitud positiva frente al tema sexualidad. No demostró influir: embarazo de la madre durante su adolescencia, tiempo de convivencia con los padres, autoestima, presión del grupo de amigos. Aceptaron haber iniciado su actividad sexual el 34,4% del total con una edad promedio de inicio de entre 14 y 16 años. CONCLUSIONES: El consumo de sustancias y la falta de comunicación intrafamiliar están fuertemente asociados al inicio de la actividad sexual en los estudiantes.au |
