| Abstract: | Background: Cervical cancer causes about 10% of female deaths worldwide. The Pap test is a strategy validated by the WHO for its timely detection, however, there are factors that influence the decision to go to this test.
General objective: To determine the factors associated with the decision to take a Pap smear in women of childbearing age from 19 to 44 years old, who attend the Tarqui Health Center, Cuenca 2021.
Methodology: Quantitative, descriptive correlational cross-sectional study. The Universe was made up of 1148 women and the sample of 288 with ages between 19 and 44 who attended the Tarqui Health Center. Data was collected through the survey by Caqui C. and Mademoisselle. The information was processed and analyzed in the SPSS version 22.0 program.
Results: The study population consisted of 288 women aged 32 to 44 years, the elements of statistical significance were: Risk: sociodemographic factors (age 19-31 years) and cultural factors (pain). Protective: Gyneco-obstetric factors (No abortions, more than one child and having a sexual partner), cognitive (the level of knowledge) and family factors (History of Ca de Cervix and the concern of the couple)
Conclusions: The risk factors that influence the decision to take a Pap smear are cultural and protective, cognitive, family and gyneco-obstetric. |
| Description: | Antecedentes. El cáncer de cuello uterino produce cerca del 10 % de las defunciones femeninas en todo el mundo. El test de Papanicolau es una estrategia validada por la OMS para su detección oportuna, sin embargo, existen factores que influyen en la decisión de acudir a este examen.
Objetivo General. Determinar los factores asociados a la decisión de la toma de muestra de Papanicolau en mujeres de edad fértil de 19 a 44 años, que acuden al Centro de Salud Tarqui, Cuenca 2021.
Metodología. Estudio cuantitativo, descriptivo correlacional de corte transversal. El Universo estuvo conformado por 1148 mujeres y la muestra por 288 con edades entre 19 y 44 años que acudieron al centro de Salud de Tarqui. Se recolectó los datos mediante la encuesta de Caqui C. y Mademoisselle. La información se procesó y analizó en el programa SPSS versión 22.0.
Resultados. La población de estudio estuvo conformada por 288 mujeres con edades de 32 a 44 años, los elementos de significancia estadística fueron: De riesgo: factores sociodemográficos (edad de 19-31 años) y los culturales (dolor). De protección: factores Ginecobstétricos (No abortos, más de un hijo y tener pareja sexual), cognoscitivos (el nivel de conocimiento) y familiares (Antecedentes de Ca de Cérvix y la preocupación de la pareja) |
