Abstract
Child neurodevelopment is a complex process that begins from conception and evolves systematically, it will develop and maximize during the first years of life, if adequate stimulation is provided. However; not all children have the resources and opportunities to enhance their abilities, for this reason, we saw the need to evaluate the preschoolers of the San Joaquín parish – Centro Parroquial using the instrument of evaluation Test Illinois of Psycholinguistic Aptitudes (ITPA).
General objetive
Evaluate the psycholinguistic abilities of boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 5 from the San Joaquín - Centro Parroquial.
Methodology
A quantitative study of a prospective descriptive and observational type, which was carried out on boys and girls between 4 and 5 years of age who belong to the San Joaquín - Centro Parroquial, using the ITPA test, Cuenca 2020. For analysis and tabulation of results, it was used the program: IBM SPSS version 23 Spanish free, Microsoft Excel 2019 and Microsoft Word 2019.
Results
The study was carried out with a sample of 90 participants, of which 52.2% are female and
47.8% male; of the total of the children evaluated, 48.9% show an adequate psycholinguistic level for their chronological age, 31.1% present a higher psycholinguistic level for their chronological age and only 20.0% present a psycholinguistic level lower than their chronological age.
Resumen
El neurodesarrollo infantil es un proceso complejo que inicia desde la concepción y va evolucionando sistemáticamente, este se va a desarrollar y potenciar al máximo durante los primeros años de vida, si se proporciona una estimulación adecuada. Sin embargo; no todos los niños cuentan con los recursos y oportunidades para potenciar sus habilidades, por lo cual nos vimos en la necesidad de evaluar a los preescolares de la Parroquia San Joaquín – Centro Parroquial utilizando el instrumento de evaluación Test Illinois de Aptitudes Psicolingüísticas (ITPA).
Objetivo General:
Evaluar las habilidades psicolingüísticas de los niños y niñas de 4 a 5 años de edad de la parroquia San Joaquín – Centro Parroquial.
Metodología:
Estudio cuantitativo de tipo observacional descriptivo prospectivo, el cual se realizó a niños y niñas de 4 a 5 años de edad que pertenecen a la parroquia San Joaquín – Centro Parroquial, mediante el test ITPA, Cuenca 2020. Para análisis y tabulación de resultados se utilizó el programa: IBM SPSS versión 23 español gratuito, Microsoft Excel 2019 y Microsoft Word 2019.
Resultados:
El estudio se realizó con una muestra de 90 participantes de los cuales el 52,2% son de sexo femenino y el 47,8% de sexo masculino, del total de los niños evaluados el 48,9% muestra un nivel psicolingüístico adecuado para su edad cronológica, el 31,1% presenta nivel psicolingüístico superior para su edad
cronológica y únicamente el 20,0% presenta un nivel psicolingüístico inferior a su edad cronológica.
