| Abstract: | The present titled investigation Valuation of low Weight, Overweight and Obesity in the children of the school “Xavier Muñoz Chávez” of the cantón Cuenca, tried to determine the prevalence of these problems in the students, to take part envelope they, promoting action of monitoring, nutritional advising and nourishing security for a growth and healthful development, rescuing the cultural tradition in relation to the nutritional habits.
This investigation forms part of the project “valuation of the nutritional state of the children of Educaciòn Bàsica of the cantón Cuenca”, impelled by the School of Infirmary of the University of Cuenca, in which students participate, withdrawn, and educational of this school.
The project is organized and directed by the two educational of the School of Infirmary of the University of Cuenca and like people in charge members of this protocol.
Material and Method: One is a study of cross section that will allow to determine the prevalence of the bad nutrition in the /as children of the school “Xavier Muñoz Chávez” of the cantón Cuenca.
The universe this constituted by 50 niños/as registered in September of the 2009-2010 that for being small it was investigated to all the group of children of second to seventh of basic.
Techniques and instruments:
The used techniques of investigation were:
• The survey that will be applied to the parents of family of children investigated
• The technique of measurement in anthropometric control
The instruments that were used are:
• The tables of Index of Corporal Mass (IMC)
• The curves of growth of the NCHS
• Form of survey on the socioeconomic condition
The results were process and analyzed by means of Microsoft office and excel, in which was low weight a 22% in children, in children a 30%, normal weight 65% in children, children 58% and it does not exist overweight nor obesity.
CONCLUSION: The majority of children of the school Xavier Muñoz Chávez is with a normal weight nevertheless exists prevalence of low weight in some children. |
| Description: | La presente investigación titulada valoración de Bajo Peso, Sobrepeso y Obesidad en los Niños/as de la Escuela “Xavier Muñoz Chávez” del cantón Cuenca, pretendió determinar la prevalencia de estos problemas en los escolares, para intervenir sobre ellos, promoviendo acciones de vigilancia, asesoramiento nutricional y seguridad alimentaria para un crecimiento y desarrollo saludable, rescatando la tradición cultural en relación con los hábitos nutricionales.
Esta investigación forma parte del proyecto “Valoración del estado nutricional de los niños/as de la educaciòn bàsica del cantón Cuenca”, impulsado por la Escuela de Enfermería de la Universidad de Cuenca, en el cual participan estudiantes, egresadas, y docentes de esta escuela.
El proyecto está organizado y dirigido por dos docentes de la Escuela de Enfermería de la Universidad de Cuenca y como responsables las integrantes de este protocolo.
Material y Método: Se trata de un estudio de corte transversal que permitirá determinar la prevalencia de la mal nutrición en los niños /as de la escuela “Xavier Muñoz Chávez” del Cantón Cuenca.
El universo esta constituido por 50 niños/as matriculados en septiembre del 2009-2010 que por ser pequeño se investigó a todo el grupo de niños/as de segundo a séptimo de básica.
Técnicas e instrumentos:
Las técnicas de investigación utilizadas fueron:
• La encuesta que se aplicará a los padres de familia de los niños/as investigados
• La técnica de medición en control antropométrico
Los instrumentos que se utilizaron son:
• Las tablas de Indicé de Masa Corporal (IMC)
• Las curvas de crecimiento de la NCHS
• Formulario de encuesta sobre la condición socioeconómica
Los resultados fueron procesados y analizados mediante microsoft office y excel, en el cual se encontró bajo peso un 22% en niños, en niñas un 30%, peso normal 65% en niños, en niñas 58% y no existe sobrepeso ni obesidad.
CONCLUSIÓN: La mayoría de los niños/as de la escuela Xavier Muñoz Chávez se encuentran con un peso normal sin embargo existe prevalencia de bajo peso en algunos niños. |
