Abstract
The present work comparatively analyze the problem of the meaning of life from the views
of Albert Camus and Jean Paul Sartre. For this, emphasis is placed on the fundamental lines of
thought of each author; in the case of Albert Camus, the absurd and suicide are the central
categories. On the other hand, in the case of Jean Paul Sartre, the categories analyzed were the
Being, Nothingness and Freedom. The analysis has a hermeneutical approach, because a review
and interpretation of the different works of the authors are made, which are developed in different
disciplines such as: Philosophy, theater and literature. Likewise, a historical analysis of the most
important war conflicts of the 20th century was carried out: The First and Second World War,
because these events show the crisis and loss of meaning. Then, the wars will be key to
understanding the thought of Camus and Sartre, as well as the problem of the meaning of life
Resumen
La presente investigación analiza comparativamente el problema del sentido de la vida
desde la visiones de Albert Camus y Jean Paul Sartre. Para ello, se hace hincapié en las líneas
fundamentales del pensamiento de cada autor; en el caso de Albert Camus, se hizo énfasis en el
absurdo y el suicidio, entendidas como categorías centrales. Por otro lado, en el caso de Jean Paul
Sartre, las categorías analizadas fueron las de El Ser, la Nada y la Libertad. El análisis posee un
enfoque hermenéutico, puesto que se hace una revisión e interpretación de las diferentes obras de
los autores, las cuales se desarrollan en diferentes disciplinas, como lo son: La filosofía, el teatro
y la literatura. Así mismo, se realiza un análisis histórico de los conflictos bélicos más importantes
del siglo XX: La Primera y la Segunda Guerra Mundial, puesto que dichos eventos muestran la
crisis y la pérdida de sentido. Entonces, las guerras serán clave para entender el pensamiento de
Camus y Sartre, así como la problemática del sentido de la vida
