Abstract: | SUMMARY: Pneumonia, according to the World Health Organization, is an acute
respiratory infection that affects the lungs, it can be caused by viruses, bacteria and fungi,
affecting all population groups. In the presence of symptoms such as cough, chills,
shortness of breath, a picture of pneumonia is suspected. [1]
The Pneumology service at the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital is one of the most
complete today, it has modern equipment that performs effective diagnoses and specific
treatments.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Determine the Frequency and Lethality of Pneumonia in the
Internal Medicine Area of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Cuenca Hospital. 2019.
METHODOLOGY: A descriptive study was carried out; on the frequency and lethality of
pneumonia in the Internal Medicine area of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in the
period from June to December 2019; with 134 medical records that presented a diagnosis
of pneumonia and risk of fatality. Statistical analysis was performed with EPI 2004 v.3.22
and Excel software; the results are presented with frequency, percentages, mean and
SD.
RESULTS: Of 134 medical records related to pneumonia diagnoses, 58.2% are older
adults; 50.74% corresponds to the male sex. The clinical manifestations such as bronchial
rales and tachypnea had a frequency of 75.3% and 67.9% respectively. 20.14% of
patients died. The drugs most used in patients were Amoxicillin + Clavulanic acid with
20.8%; followed by the association Amoxicillin + clavulanic acid and Clarithromycin with
18.6%.
CONCLUSIONS: Through data collection, the frequency and lethality of Pneumonia was
determined. |
Description: | La neumonía, según la Organización Mundial de la Salud, es una infección respiratoria
aguda que afecta a los pulmones, puede ser causada por virus, bacterias y hongos,
afectando a todos los grupos poblacionales. Ante la presencia de síntomas como la tos,
escalofríos, dificultad para respirar se sospecha de un cuadro de neumonía. [1]
El servicio de Neumología en el Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso, es uno de los más
completos actualmente, cuenta con equipos modernos que realizan diagnósticos
eficaces y tratamientos específicos.
OBJETIVO GENERAL: Determinar la Frecuencia y Letalidad de la Neumonía en el
Área de Medicina Interna del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso Cuenca.2019.
METODOLOGÍA: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo; sobre la frecuencia y letalidad de la
neumonía en el área de Medicina interna del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso en el
periodo comprendido entre junio a diciembre de 2019; con 134 historias clínicas que
presentaron diagnóstico de neumonía y riesgo de letalidad. El análisis estadístico se
realizó con los softwares EPI 2004 v.3.22 y Excel; los resultados se presentan con
frecuencia, porcentajes, media y DS.
RESULTADOS: De 134 historias clínicas respectivas a diagnósticos de neumonía, el
58.2% son adultos mayores; el 50.74% corresponde al sexo masculino. Las
manifestaciones clínicas como estertores bronquiales y taquipnea tuvieron una
frecuencia de 75.3% y 67.9% respectivamente. Un 20,14% de pacientes fallecieron. Los
fármacos más utilizados en los pacientes fueron Amoxicilina+ Acido clavulánico con un
20,8%; seguido por la asociación Amoxicilina+ Acido clavulánico y Claritromicina con un
18,6%.
CONCLUSIONES: Mediante la recolección de datos, se determinó la frecuencia y
letalidad de la Neumonía. |
