Abstract: | Objective: Determine knowledge, attitudes and practices on rural medical who belong to Dirección Provincial de Salud del Azuay, Cuenca, 2011-2012.
Methods and materials: quasi-experimental study conducted with 121 community health workers. A questionnaire was made which assessed the knowledge, attitudes and practices on steroids. Following this an intervention was realized with the delivery of booklets, placing posters on walls of health’s areas and providing access to the Moodle virtual tool with more information. In the two months we proceeded to revalue them using the same questionnarire. Previous surveys were obtained informed consent.
Results: in terms of sociodemographic characteristics, most participants were in the age group 24 years (42.1%), and 61,2% were females. Knowledge increased to 42.1%, attitudes categorized as good increased to 12.4% and 5.8% improved practices. In the association of variables we observed that gender influences attitudes with a value of p = 0.002, as well as in practice, p = 0.005, these values were obtained after the intervention, which demonstrated its utility by the test Student's t statistical significant in knowledge, attitudes and practices.
Conclusions: Small percentage of medical have good knowledge, attitudes and practices, but the intervention changed significantly these values. Sex is not crucial to have good or bad knowledge but it is important in attitudes and practices after an intervention |
Description: | Se realizó un estudio de prevalencia aplicando un formulario más el test Escala de Alteraciones del Sueño en la Infancia de O. Bruni a una muestra aleatoria de 561 padres de alumnos matriculados en 5 escuelas urbanas de Cuenca. Se empleó el software SPSS 15 versión free. Se analizó con valor de p, RP e IC del 95%. Resultados.-La prevalencia alcanzó el 40.2% siendo más frecuente entre los 9 y 11 años y en los varones. El trastorno más común fue el Sueño-vigilia con una prevalencia del 21%. El 18.7% de niños tienen más de un trastorno del sueño. El lugar de residencia y la migración no mostraron relación significativa. El colecho, comer mucho en la noche, los estresores psicológicos, tomar bebidas con cafeína en la noche, ver TV más de 4 horas diarias fueron más frecuentes en los niños con trastornos del sueño. El rendimiento escolar mostró relación significativa con los trastornos del sueño. Conclusión.- Los trastornos del sueño en los niños son muy frecuentes y están asociados a ciertos estilos de vida modificables. au |
