| Abstract: | Introduction: General anesthesia uses devices such as endotracheal tube (TET) and laryngeal mask (ML). Standard gold TET in the airway and is an invasive method compared to ML, although both can cause oropharyngeal lesions. The most cited post-extubación complication by patients is odynophagia.
Objective: To determine the incidence of odynophagia with the use of ML and TET in adult patients undergoing elective surgeries under general anesthesia at Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in 2018.
Method: An observational, descriptive, prospective study was conducted in adult patients undergoing elective surgeries under general anesthesia in 2018, meeting inclusion and exclusion criteria. The sample was simple randomized in 216 patients, whose anesthesiologist established the device according to the patient's needs and surgery. The information was transcribed from anesthesia records and evaluation of respective forms, data analyzed with the SPSS 25.0 free version system. The analysis was performed using frequency, mean, percentage, averages and dispersion measures such as standard deviation and range.
Results: Was observed in the following groups: women 41.2%, years range 51-60 in 56.5%, obesity 65.4%, ASA II 51.4%, VAD 85.7%, specialists 53.6%, TET with 60.9%, size 7.5 with 47.1%, the ML Classic in 23.3%, size 4 with 73.7%, attempts is the third with 100%, anesthetic time > 120min 62.5%, laparoscopic surgery 55.6%, intensity range 0-1 in 57.9% and favorable evolution of 94.3%. |
| Description: | Introducción: La anestesia general (AG) emplea varios dispositivos entre los más usados tenemos el tubo endotraqueal (TET) y la máscara laríngea (ML). El TET estándar de oro en vía aérea comparado con ML y ambos pueden ocasionar lesiones orofaríngeas. La complicación posextubación más citada por los pacientes es la odinofagia.(2)
Objetivo: Determinar la incidencia de odinofagia con el uso de ML y TET en pacientes adultos sometidos a cirugías electivas con anestesia general en el Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso en el
2018.
Método: Se realizó un estudio observacional, descriptivo, prospectivo en pacientes adultos intervenidos en cirugías electivas bajo anestesia general el 2018, cumpliendo criterios de inclusión y exclusión. La muestra fue aleatoria simple en 216 pacientes, cuyo anestesiólogo estableció el dispositivo según necesidades del paciente y cirugía. La información se transcribió de registros de anestesia y de formularios ya evaluados respectivamente, datos analizados con el sistema SPSS 25.0 versión libre. El análisis se realizó mediante frecuencia, media, porcentaje, promedios y medidas de dispersión como desvió estándar y rango.
Resultados: Se observó mayor prevalencia de odinofagia en: mujeres 41.2%, rango 51-60 años
56.5%, obesidad 65,4%, ASA II 51.4%, VAD 85.7 %, tratantes 53.6%, TET con 60.9%, tamaño 7.5 con 47.1%, ML Clásica en 23.3%, tamaño 4 con 73.7%, intentos de colocación el tercero con 100%, tiempo anestésico >120min 62,5%, laparoscopia 55,6%, intensidad rango 0-1 en 57.9% y evolución favorable del 94.3%. |
