Abstract: | Background: The different parental styles that parents adopt when raising a child may have influences that are reflected in the excess or deficit of the nutritional status of children.
Objective: To determine the parenting style and nutritional status in children from 5 to 10 years of school "Héctor Sempertegui", Cuenca. 2019
Materials and Methods: Descriptive, quantitative cross-sectional study, worked with a sample of 117 children aged 5 to 10 who were in the care of their parents. For the collection of the information, the PEF A2 Parenting Styles Questionnaire validated in other investigations was applied, for the weight and height anthropometry a registration list was used, the nutritional status was determined according to the World Health Organization (WHO). The analysis was performed with the SPSS version 22 program, the results are presented in frequency tables and percentages.
Results: Children with normal nutritional status have parents with a balanced parenting style at 61.5%, overweight with 26.7% have parents with authoritarian style, obesity with 13.3% have parents with authoritarian parenting style, thinness have parents with permissive parenting style with 29.2%, in severe thinness they present parents with parenting style permission with 16.7%.
Conclusion: In the following investigation, all the stated objectives were met, which are disclosed in the study. |
Description: | Antecedentes: Los diferentes estilos parentales que adoptan los padres al momento de criar a un hijo pueden tener influencias que se ven reflejadas en el exceso o déficit del estado nutricional de los niños.
Objetivo: Determinar el estilo de crianza parental y estado nutricional en niños de 5 a 10 años de la escuela “Héctor Sempertegui”, Cuenca. 2019
Materiales y Métodos: estudio descriptivo, cuantitativo de corte transversal, se trabajó con una muestra de 117 niños de 5 a 10 años que se encontraban al cuidado de sus progenitores. Para la recolección de la información se aplicó el Cuestionario Estilos de Crianza PEF A2 validado en otras investigaciones, para la antropometría peso y talla se utilizó una lista de registro, se determinó el estado nutricional según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS). El análisis se realizó con el programa SPSS versión 22, se presenta los resultados en tablas de frecuencias y porcentajes.
Resultados: los niños con estado nutricional normal tienen padres con estilo de crianza equilibrado el 61,5%, sobrepeso con el 26,7% presentan padres con estilo autoritario, obesidad el 13,3% tienen padres con estilo de crianza autoritario, delgadez tienen padres con estilo de crianza permisivo con el 29,2%, delgadez severa tienen padres con estilo de crianza permiso con el 16,7%.
Conclusión: la investigación concluye que el estilo de crianza que adoptan los padres influye en estado nutricional de sus hijos-as, los mismos que se dan a conocer en el estudio. |
