Abstract

A theoretical vision of what constitutes the Theory of Gender today, in which, from Marx's concept of work, the contributions of his daughter Eleanor Marx, Rosa Luxemburg and Clara Zetkin, which lay the Marxist bases of the Theory of Gender, they open the theoretical part of this study on “The Jewelers of Cuenca, Social and Cultural Construction and Gender Invisibility, 2000 - 2016”. Likewise with precise and eloquent quotes, there are modern authors such as Joan Scott, Michel Foucault, Lourdes Benería and their vision of women's work. But who stands out mainly to explain the problem to investigate is Michelle Perrot Who. Arlette Farge, allows the work to propose to elaborate: “The History of the Cuenca Woman in Art and Crafts” in the future. Nancy Fraser, with her contribution to the distinction between “family salary” and productive and reproductive work, will make it possible to understand one of the most impressive parts that will be witnessed in the investigation. Finally, Terry Eagleton with his work on "Culture" and "Ideology", with key quotes, will allow to outline a proposal for a solution, to the problem of jewelry in general, and the jeweler of Cuenca in particular. Different conceptions of patriarchy allow us to have a concrete vision of this social problem, which has a strong impact on local development. The central part of the work is constituted by the selection and search of three Cuenca jewelers, representative of different social classes, and the testimony obtained about their lives and their work.
