| Abstract: | The purpose of this study is to describe the levels of self-efficacy in people with disability base on Albert Bandura´s social cognitive theory approach. Albert bandura (1977), who emphasizes the study variable, self-efficacy, which influences the cognition and behavior of the individual. To carry out this study a quantitative approach of non-experimental design, of short transversal and descriptive scope was used. The study involved 35 people with visual disabilities, 25 men and 10 women, aged between 19 and 66, members of two institutions in the province of Azuay. The data were collected through a sociodemographic record and the application of the Generalized self-efficacy scale for the Ecuadorian context (Bueno-Pacheco, Lima-Castro, Peña-Contreras, Cedillo-Quizhpe, y Aguilar-Sizer, 2017). The results of the study reveal that the levels of self-efficacy in our population has an average of 33.91, a score that indicates that the self-efficacy is presented with high levels. |
| Description: | El presente estudio tiene como objetivo describir los niveles de autoeficacia en personas con discapacidad visual, basándonos en el enfoque de la teoría social cognitiva de Albert Bandura (1977), quien da énfasis a la variable de estudio, autoeficacia, la cual influye en la cognición y el comportamiento del individuo. Para realizar este estudio se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo de diseño no experimental, de corto transversal y de alcance descriptivo. El estudio involucró a 35 personas con discapacidad visual, 25 hombre y 10 mujeres, con edades de entre 19 y 66 años, integrantes de dos instituciones de la provincia del Azuay. Los datos fueron recogidos a través de una ficha sociodemográfica y la aplicación de la Escala de Autoeficacia Generalizada para el Contexto Ecuatoriano (Bueno-Pacheco, Lima-Castro, Peña-Contreras, Cedillo-Quizhpe, y Aguilar-Sizer, 2017). Los resultados del estudio revelan que el nivel de autoeficacia en nuestra población tiene una media de 33.91, puntaje que indica que la autoeficacia se presenta con niveles altos. |
