Abstract: | Background: Thyroid neoplasms has been increasing in recent years, well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma (CDT) corresponds to approximately 80% of thyroid tumors affecting a greater number of people under 55 years of age of female preference.
General Objective: To determine the clinical characteristics and recurrence factors in patients with well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma at the SOLCA Cuenca Cancer Institute, during the 2013 – 2018 period.
Materials and Methods: It is a descriptive study. The medical records of patients with a diagnosis of CDT were obtained from the SOLCA Cuenca Cancer Institute database, the information was recorded on the collection form, subsequently stored and analyzed with the Microsoft EXCEL 2016 program and SPSS version 25.0
Results: Data were collected from 580 patients with CDT of which 65.9% were younger than 55 years, women obtained 87.6%, the year with the most cases was 2018 with 21.6%. the symptomatology that predominates are thyroid nodules (53.4%) and incidentalomas (46.6%); papillary CDT is the most frequent with 96.2%. Of the patients with metastases, 97.2% correspond to the nodes. Surgical treatment was performed in 99.3% and iodotherapy in 85.2% of patients. The risk of intermediate recurrence was observed in 44.7%.
Conclusions: CDT was more frequent in 2018, in women under 55 with palpable nodule and incidentalomas. In which surgical treatment and iodotherapy was applied; with a risk of intermediate recurrence. |
Description: | Antecedentes: las neoplasias tiroideas han incrementado durante los últimos años, el carcinoma diferenciado de tiroides (CDT) corresponde aproximadamente el 80% de los tumores tiroideos afectando a personas menores a 55 años de preferencia mujeres.
Objetivo general: determinar las características epidemiológicas, clínicas y factores pronósticos de recurrencia en pacientes con carcinoma de tiroides bien diferenciado en el Instituto de Cáncer SOLCA Cuenca, durante el periodo 2013 – 2018.
Materiales y métodos: es un estudio descriptivo. Las historias clínicas de pacientes diagnosticados de CDT se obtuvieron de la base de datos del Instituto de Cáncer SOLCA, la información se registró con el formulario de recolección; se almacenó y analizó con el programa Microsoft EXCEL 2016 y SPSS versión 25.0.
Resultados: se recolectó datos de 580 pacientes con CDT de los cuales el 65.9% fueron menores a 55 años, las mujeres obtuvieron un 87.6%, el año con más casos fue el 2018 con el 21.6%. la sintomatología que predomina son los nódulos tiroideos (53.4%) y los incidentalomas (46.6%); el CDT papilar es el más frecuente con el 96.2%. De los pacientes con metástasis el 97.2% corresponde a las ganglionares. El tratamiento quirúrgico se realizó en el 99.3% y la yodoterapia en 85.2% de pacientes. El riesgo de recurrencia intermedio se observó en el 44.7%.
Conclusiones: el CDT fue más frecuente en el año 2018, en mujeres menores a 55 años con nódulo palpable e incidentalomas. En los cuales se aplicó tratamiento quirúrgico y yodoterapia; con un riesgo de recurrencia intermedio. |
