Tortura en el Centro de Rehabilitación Social Regional Sur Turi del Ecuador: Su inexistencia o una práctica disciplinaria normalizada. Un análisis de los hechos suscitados en el CRS Turi el 31 mayo 2016

Abstract

This research work is aimed at analyzing the institution of torture and its evolution in the use and practice of it throughout history, serving as a precursor to the study of the penal type of torture envisaged in article 151 of the Organic Integral Penal Code of Ecuador. We analyzed the disciplinary practices currently used by members of the National Police Force in the Social Rehabilitation center CRS Turi, and it is determined that they can dehumanize people deprived of liberty through humiliation and objectification. Finally, this research project relates the events that occurred in the Medium Security Pavilion JC of the South Center for Social Rehabilitation Turi as of 31 May 2016 in order to determine if it is underlined with the crime of torture.
