Abstract
In the city of Cuenca, according to the 2010 census of the Ecuador´s Statistics and Census Institute (INEC), there were 505,585 inhabitants. According to the Ecuadorian Register of Disabilities National Council on Disabilities (CONADIS), up to May 2013 there were 17,012 people with disabilities, including 9,302 with physical-motor disability, representing a significant segment of the population who should have access to the public buildings of health services as part of good living.
The overall objective of this research was to analyze the accessibility of people with physical-motor disability to the public buildings of health units of first level that belong to the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), Cuenca 2014.
This research is observational, descriptive-quantitative.
For the analysis of the obtained information through the application of accessibility check sheets, the SPSS Statistics v-18 program was used; and a database was created for further processing. The results were displayed in tables.
The classification of level of accessibility in 14 public buildings of health in Cuenca city evidences that 27 corridors (51.92%) offer complete accessibility, 13 stairs (86.66%) and 15 ramps (68.18%) are of moderate accessibility. While accessibility in16 bathrooms (88.89%) and 73 doors (50%) is null
Resumen
En el cantón Cuenca, según el censo del 2010 del Instituto Nacional de Estadísticas y Censos (INEC), hay 505.585 habitantes. Según el Registro Nacional de Discapacidades del Consejo Nacional de Discapacidades (CONADIS), hasta mayo del 2013 existen 17.012 personas con discapacidad, entre ellas 9.302 tienen discapacidad física-motora, representando un segmento significativo de población quienes deben tener accesibilidad al medio físico de servicios de salud como parte del buen vivir.
Objetivo general: Se analizó, la accesibilidad de personas con discapacidad física-motora al medio físico en los edificios públicos de las unidades de salud de primer nivel del Ministerio de Salud Pública (MSP), cantón Cuenca 2014. Para lo cual se utilizó una ficha de comprobación de accesibilidad a edificios públicos de salud basados en las normas INEN.
Tipo de investigación: Observacional, descriptiva – cuantitativa.
Análisis de la información: Mediante la aplicación de fichas de comprobación de accesibilidad, se utilizó el programa SPSS Statistics v-18; y se creó una base de datos para su posterior procesamiento. Los resultados son exhibidos en tablas.
Resultados. La evidencia de la clasificación del nivel de accesibilidad en 14 edificios públicos de salud del cantón Cuenca, muestra que 27 pasillos (51.92%) ofrecen accesibilidad completa, 13 escaleras (86.66%) y 15 rampas (68.18%) son de accesibilidad moderada. Mientras la accesibilidad en 16 baños (88.89%) y 73 puertas (50%), es nula
