Incidencia de la declaratoria “Cañar, capital arqueológica y cultural del Ecuador” en las comunidades indígenas de Sisid y Quilloac

Abstract

Nearly two decades after the declaration of Cañar, Archaeological and Cultural Capital of Ecuador, journalistic research is raised about the influence of that declaration in the communities of Sisid and Quilloac of Cañar Canton. The selected communities for the research stand out for owning archaeological vestiges and also being part of the called "living culture", as the intangible heritage of these peoples. The research of the type descriptive and cross-sectional focused on having a double perspective about the incidence of this declaration, on the one hand, the authorities and entities proposal that have the obligation to preserve these heritages, and on the other hand, the people and community members vision about the incidence of this event given in 2001 year. A fieldwork was developed, through direct observations and interviews applications to the members and leaders of the communities, as well as authorities linked to this event, such is the case of the mayor of the Cañar canton. The obtained results from this research show that the Declaration, for the communities, has gone unnoticed, being one of the problem the budgetary lack to cover the needs that guide the preservation of the culture of these communities. On the other hand, the municipal entity emphasizes that it is a priority to provide basic services to guarantee living standards in all the communities of the Cañar canton; work that has been concentrating and requires years of attention still, being these points the priority, in front of the cultural promotion.
