Abstract: | INTRODUCTION: The incorrect and inadequate use of antibiotics these have been a growing problem in recent years, because they endanger the lives of millions of patients each year, and contribute to the increase in resistance to them.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE: to determine the prescription characteristics of antibiotics in appendicitis in the area of surgery of the Hospital Jose Carrasco year 2017
MATERIAL AND METHODS: Descriptive with a sample of 496 patients, who were admitted to the surgery in the 2017 period, of which by means of a form and access to the database was obtained information on the prescription characteristics in acute appendicitis. The results were grouped, tabulated with the program SPSS version 25 and analyzed by percentages, frequencies and measures of central tendency.
RESULTS: The men with 53% of cases, the average age was 38.5 years. There was a prophylaxis compliance of 85.9%, with Ampicillin plus Sulbactam being the most used with 49,2%, followed by Ciprofloxacin plus metronidazole (17.4%) and Ceftriaxone plus metronidazole (9.2%). an average of 5.09 days of hospital stay in complicated appendicitis, and of 1.63 days in uncomplicated, with respect to time of administration of antibiotics the average was 6.44 days in complicated appendicitis, and 1.8 days in uncomplicated appendicitis.
CONCLUSIONS: the prescription of antibiotics in appendectomized patients of the Jose Carrrasco Arteaga hospital is in accordance whit the current guidelines and protocols established worldwide. |
Description: | INTRODUCCIÓN: El uso incorrecto e inadecuado de antibióticos han sido un problema creciente en los últimos años porque ponen en peligro la vida de millones de pacientes cada año, y contribuyen al incremento de la resistencia bacteriana.
OBJETIVO GENERAL: Determinar las características de prescripción de antibióticos en apendicitis en el área de cirugía del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga año 2017
MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Estudio descriptivo, de 496 pacientes, del área de cirugía del Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, y que fueron operados período 2017, de los cuales mediante un formulario y acceso a la base de datos se obtuvo información sobre las características de prescripción en apendicitis aguda. Los resultados fueron agrupados, tabulados con el programa SPSS versión 25 y analizados mediante porcentajes, frecuencias y medidas de tendencia central.
RESULTADOS: Hombres con el 53% de los casos, la media de edad en 38,5 años. Cumplimiento de profilaxis del 85,9 %, siendo la Ampicilina más Sulbactam el más utilizado con el 49,2%, Ciprofloxacino mas metronidazol (17,4%) y Ceftriaxona mas metronidazol (9,2%), con media de 5,09 días de estancia hospitalaria en apendicitis complicada, y de 1,63 días en no complicada, tiempo de administración de antibióticos con media fue de 6,44 días en apendicitis complicada, y de 1,8 días en apendicitis no complicada.
CONCLUSIONES: La prescripción de antibióticos Hospital José Carrasco Arteaga, están acorde con los lineamientos y protocolos establecidos a nivel mundial. |
