| Abstract: | Nowadays, in the hotel industry, sustainability has become one of the topics raising greater environmental awareness for human beings, since it has been linked in a long lasting way within lodging enterprises, that is why the current research work was developed with the objective of applying the Guide for Sustainable Tourism Best Practices by Rainforest Alliance year 2005, at Hostería Santa Bárbara in Canton Gualaceo, which will make the hostelry activity and sustainable tourism more relevant. The hostel will be in charge of managing and integrating the three elements that are comprised in sustainability, the business, socio-cultural aspects and environmental features. Once the necessary information is gathered, sustainable alternatives will be proposed, which will help the hostel to get the Smart Voyager international certification to make it still more sustainable. |
| Description: | Hoy en día, en la industria hotelera la sostenibilidad se ha convertido en uno de los temas con mayor conciencia ambiental para el ser humano, pues se ha vinculado de manera permanente dentro de los establecimientos de alojamiento, por ello se ha decidido realizar el presente trabajo de titulación con la finalidad de aplicar la Guía de Buenas Prácticas para Turismo Sostenible de Rainforest Alliance año 2005, en la Hostería Santa Bárbara del cantón Gualaceo, la misma que dará mayor importancia a la actividad hotelera y al desarrollo sostenible, siendo esta la encargada de gestionar e integrar los tres ámbitos fundamentales de la sostenibilidad que son: empresarial, socio-cultural y ambiental, los cuales ayudarán a reducir impactos negativos y maximizar beneficios económicos y sociales, una vez obtenido la información necesaria se propondrá alternativas sostenibles que favorecerán a que la hostería pueda obtener la certificación internacional de Smart Voyager para ser más sostenible. |
