Abstract:
The present research work aims to identify the tools to help attract new tourism markets. The Booking Platforms and the Social Networks are two of the tools that are used for the decision of a national or international destination that were considered for the investigation.
The methodology used for the development of this research work included the statistical analysis system IBM SPSS Statistics Version 25, to process 211 surveys with a conceptual quantitative approach, collected during 3 festive dates in places of greater affluence and tourist movement of the Historic Center of Cuenca, performing an accidental non-probabilistic sampling.
In this investigation, it was obtained that the majority of foreign tourists make use of the most common Reservation Platforms (Booking.com, Airbnb.com, and TripAdvisor.com) and Social Networks (Facebook, Instagram) for their trips in general. However, the majority of domestic and foreign tourists do not use these two tools to come to Cuenca; therefore, with these results we seek to obtain a contribution to the approaches in new strategies for attracting new tourism markets.
