| dc.description | Antecedentes: la depresión posparto, es una patología que se presenta durante la gestación y puerperio, con repercusiones en la madre, el neonato y su familia. Objetivo general: determinar la prevalencia de depresión postparto y factores asociados en pacientes atendidas en el Hospital Darío Machuca Palacios del cantón la Troncal 2018. Materiales y métodos: estudio observacional, analítico, epidemiológico, transversal y prospectivo. Participaron 190 madres que cumplieron los criterios de inclusión; se aplicó un formulario de recolección de datos a las pacientes en puerperio tardío; se reportó la prevalencia y factores asociados a depresión postparto. Resultados: la prevalencia de depresión postparto fue del 72.1% (IC al 95% 65.46 – 78.74%), el 90.5% presentó DPP leve. Se encontró relación estadísticamente significativa con embarazo no deseado (RP: 1.31, IC 95%: 1.11-1.54, valor p=0.02). | dc.description.abstract | Background: postpartum depression is a pathology that occurs during pregnancy and puerperium, with repercussions on the mother, the newborn and their family. General objective: to determine the prevalence of postpartum depression and associated factors in patients treated at the Dario Machuca Hospital Palacios del cantón la Troncal 2018. Materials and methods: observational, analytical, epidemiological, cross-sectional and prospective study. 190 mothers who met the inclusion criteria participated; A data collection form was applied to patients in late puerperium; the prevalence and factors associated with postpartum depression were reported. Results: the prevalence of postpartum depression was 72.1% (95% CI 65.46 - 78.74%), 90.5% had mild PPD. A statistically significant relationship was found with unwanted pregnancy (RP: 1.31, 95% CI: 1.11-1.54, p value = 0.02).
